Geoff started his valuation and farm consultancy career in 1975, based in Morrinsville. Moving to Hamilton in 1982, Geoff’s valuation practice took on a greater emphasis but still maintained some farm consultancy clients. This then lead on to the establishment of Curnow Tizard in late 1987, coinciding with the worldwide stock market crash. Geoff has experienced a number of property cycles throughout his career. He is well versed on the impact of these events.
Geoff is assisted by graduate valuer Peter Miers. They specialise in rural, lifestyle and residential valuations including replacement insurance certificates. the valuations are generally within the area covered by the Waikato Regional Council, but specialist appraisals are undertaken throughout the North Island, whilst lifestyle and residential are focused in and around Hamilton, Cambridge and Raglan.
Geoff is experienced in providing litigation support and regularly provides expert evidence on valuations to both Arbitration and Court Hearings. He is a recognised expert on the assessment of compensation for acquisitions in terms of the Public Works Act, as acknowledged by his status as an accredited supplier to Land Information New Zealand. Compensation assessments that are not within the terms of the Public Works Act are also undertaken.
Geoff provides rural portfolio valuations for property throughout the North Island. He also completes regular asset value schedules for Local Authority purposes to meet quite stringent audit requirements.
Geoff has an interest in community involvement. This includes his 30-year membership of the Waikato Sunrise Rotary Club. This club is prolific in raising funds by working at events at the FMG Stadium and the balloon festival. These fundraising proceeds are distributed to the community.
